My name is Tabitha Starr. I'm the person business owners call when they're done trying to figure it all out alone and ready for someone who can see the whole picture, build the infrastructure underneath it, and actually give a damn about where it goes.
What I Do
I help business owners get their business running the way it's supposed to — so it actually feels like theirs again, not something running them.
Strategy: the plan, the offers, the direction, so you're not guessing your way forward. Backend and systems: the tech stack, the tools, the stuff that makes your business actually function instead of held together by good intentions. Brand and website: making sure what people see when they find you actually looks like the business you're running. Visibility: content, social, press, getting you in front of the people who need to know you exist.
I don't pick a lane and stay in it. Whatever the business actually needs, that's where I show up.
Because I don't believe in running a business that drains you.
I believe in building one that sustains you.
Why I Do It
I didn't dream of being a business consultant when I was little. But after enough detours, disasters, and downright bullshit, I knew this was where I was meant to be.
I started Slight Look on YouTube, just a place for fun, unboxings, and a little creative escape during a life that felt way too heavy. What I didn't know then was that Slight Look would one day become the name I'd stand behind while helping other business owners build something that actually works.
Before that, I was Director of Finance, HR, and Editorial for companies that looked shiny on the outside but were cracked at the core. I've worked for people who got sued by the FTC. I've written copy for industries that made my skin crawl. I've seen businesses preach one thing publicly while their backend was in absolute shambles.
And I paid the price. The sleepless nights. The hours wasted building things that didn't reflect what I actually wanted for my life. The pivots that felt like failure at the time and turned out to be the first real signs I was headed somewhere true.
I got my MBA. I got HR-certified. I learned the rules so I could help good people with intention. I took all of that, the strategy, the mess, the experience, and built a business that blends structure with results.
Now I help business owners build something that actually holds them up, instead of hollowing them out.
My Approach
We start with an audit. What you actually have, not what you think you have, because those are often two different things. From there we figure out what fits, your goals, your budget, your timeline. Some businesses want to move fast. Some need to pace it out. Either way, we build a real strategy around it, not a generic template, that's the Strategic Roadmap, and it's where almost everything starts.
But a roadmap sitting in a folder doesn't do anything for you. So I don't just hand it over and run away. I build it out alongside you. That might mean rebuilding the foundation you skipped or restructuring the one you've got so it actually holds. It might mean a tech stack that finally supports you instead of draining you. It might mean rethinking your social media so it shows your actual personality and puts your business in its best light. It might mean a website that doesn't just look good but actually works, easy to navigate, easy to trust, built so people can find what they need instead of getting lost in broken links and dead ends.
Here's the thing: most people don't even want to set foot in this part of their business. I do. This is my kingdom, backend, systems, the stuff everyone else avoids, and I take real joy running it. Add in my MBA, my HR background, and years of copywriting, and you get someone who can see the whole picture, plan it, and actually build it.
Sometimes people sit down with me and they don't fully know what they want yet, or what they think they want isn't actually what they're trying to say. Part of my job is helping you find that, then building toward it.
I especially love working with established businesses stuck with a website that's basically a junkyard, doesn't show what you actually do, doesn't give people a good experience once they land on it. Or a museum with a genuinely incredible story that nobody would know from scrolling its social media. That gap, between how good you actually are and what people see when they find you, that's exactly what I fix.
What I Believe To My Core
✶ Foundations first. Always. They're what hold up everything you build on top of them.
✶ Your business should feel as good as it performs, not just look pretty.
✶ You don't need another plan you'll abandon in three weeks or sit on the shelf for three years. You need one built to actually fit how you work.
✶ Strategy without follow-through is just a nice document. I build both.
✶ There's no one-size-fits-all model. We build what actually fits you.
✶ Good instincts matter, but they're not a fix for broken offers or broken systems.
✶ I've sat on the other side of the board table. Institutions and solo businesses both deserve someone who actually understands how they run, not just how they look.
✶ Your business should support the people running it, not run them into the ground, whether that's one founder or an entire team.
✶ Getting noticed matters just as much as running well. I build both, not one at the expense of the other.

First and foremost, I’m a mom—to a brilliant LGBTQ+ kid who keeps me on my toes in the best way possible.
My two wild tiny dogs technically live with me—but let’s be real, they run the household (especially the chihuahua!).
I share an entire library of sexy mysteries with my grandma—we both love Stephanie Bond’s books, and yes, some of them were written when I was in elementary school.
I took interior design classes for fun—and now I bring that love into branding and web design, making businesses look as powerful as they are.
I've sat on a nonprofit board and run finance and HR for one too — so when I say I get how institutions actually operate, board dynamics, budgets, the whole slow-moving machine, I mean I've lived inside it, not just consulted from outside it.
My security system? Creepy antique dolls. Who needs an alarm when Annabelle is sitting pretty by the door?
Once upon a time, I copywrote as a rich 28-year-old frat bro. He had "important" things to do, so I wrote about all things American Greed on his behalf.
Libra Sun. Cancer Moon. Leo Rising. INTJ—yes, I’ve already thought five steps ahead.
Craziest thing I’ve done? Packed up my entire life and moved cross-country to a city I'd never set foot in, a house I'd only seen in photos, and a place where I knew exactly zero people. No safety net. Just the bet on myself.
Working style? Big-picture visionary, detail-obsessed strategist, and creative problem-solver.
Other passions: Haunted houses, hiking, cozy mystery & thriller reads, nerding out over business systems, and feminist rants at inappropriate times.
Oh, and fun fact? I’ve had 80 versions of my website over the past five years—proof that your brand evolves as you do.
